You can trade futures 24/7 on Liquid through perpetual futures: contracts with no expiry date that you can open and close at any hour. Liquid's crypto perps trade around the clock, including weekends and holidays, and its stock, index, commodity, FX, and pre-IPO perps are listed in the same non-custodial account. Hours for those non-crypto markets depend on the market and venue, so check the live status. Eligible markets offer multipliers of up to 50x.

Dated exchange futures are a separate product. CME now lists some crypto and metals futures seven days a week, but most dated contracts, including the major index, energy, and agricultural futures, follow Sunday-to-Friday sessions with daily breaks.

Where can I trade futures 24/7?

There are two routes, and they suit different traders:

  • Perpetual futures on Liquid. One account, 300+ markets, no contract months to roll. Crypto perps never close. Other listed perps can trade outside their underlying market's hours, subject to each market's status.
  • Dated futures through a futures broker. CME's 24/7 trading page lists cryptocurrency futures and options (excluding Spot-Quoted futures), plus 1-Ounce Gold and 100-Ounce Silver futures, as trading 24/7 with maintenance windows. You need a broker that carries those exact contracts.

If you want an always-on futures-style market across asset classes, a perpetual venue is the more direct answer. If you need a regulated exchange contract with a fixed settlement date, use a futures broker and confirm which contract months are open on weekends.

How do dated futures and perpetuals differ?

Dated futurePerpetual future
ExpiryFixed contract month; roll or settleNone; hold while margin allows
Holding costBasis to spot, priced into the contractFunding payments between longs and shorts
HoursSet by the exchange per productSet by the venue per market; crypto perps 24/7
RegulationExchange-listed, cleared through an FCMVenue rules; not a CME contract

The trade-off is simple. A dated future gives you a standardized exchange contract and a known settlement process. A perpetual gives you continuous access with no roll, paid for through funding rates. Liquid does not offer CME futures. For more detail, see futures vs. perpetual futures.

What changes at night and on weekends?

Liquidity and spreads can change when the underlying market is closed. A stock or commodity perp trading on a Saturday has no live exchange price to anchor to, so its price reflects what traders are willing to pay until the cash market reopens. Size positions with that in mind, and use a stop-loss you would be comfortable with if the market gapped at Monday's open.

How to trade futures 24/7 on Liquid

  1. Fund your account. Deposit with a card, a transfer, or USDC. See how to fund your Liquid account.
  2. Practice first. Switch to paper trading and run a night or weekend trade with simulated funds.
  3. Pick a market and check its status. Crypto perps are always open. For other perps, confirm the market shows as tradable.
  4. Size it and set exits. Choose a multiplier, review notional and margin, and attach a take-profit and stop-loss. The full walkthrough is in how to trade on Liquid.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I trade futures 24/7?

Liquid offers perpetual futures, and its crypto perps trade 24/7 including weekends and holidays. Stock, index, commodity, FX, and pre-IPO perps are listed in the same non-custodial account, with hours that vary by market and venue. For dated exchange futures, CME lists some crypto futures and options plus 1-Ounce Gold and 100-Ounce Silver futures as 24/7, with maintenance windows.

Does Liquid offer CME futures?

No. Liquid offers perpetual futures, which have no expiry and use funding payments instead of contract rolls. For a specific CME contract, use a futures broker that carries it.

How much leverage can I use on 24/7 futures on Liquid?

Up to 50x on eligible FX and index perpetuals and up to 40x on crypto. Maximums vary by market and position size, and the order ticket shows the current limit.

Are perpetual futures prices reliable when the underlying market is closed?

When the reference market is closed, perp prices reflect trader supply and demand rather than a live exchange print. Spreads can widen, and prices can gap when the home market reopens, so size positions for that.

Educational content only — not investment advice. Trading perpetual futures involves substantial risk and may not be suitable for every investor. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
